Is a marshmallow essentially a form of meringue? American meringue, if you will.

you can make them using any tool that can make whipped cream, even just a whisk if you're brave

I found a hand-crank drill at the local Goodwill, and I was ecstatic. Mixer attachment on that and I'll foam up anything with my bare hands.
