They don't care. They don't think about the rest of the population. Every single one of these ghouls wants to live in a world where they have unlimited unilateral power over humanity. Anyone left alive will be left alive as a slave or pawn for these people. The rest of humanity outside of who they can personally control is irrelevant to them. That's the world they dream of and the world they're trying to build.
It's worse than that. They want an end to class struggle through the final solution to the proletariat question. Their ultimate vision is them living as transhuman gods lording over robot slaves after humanity has been exterminated. They welcome climate change because climate change will usher forth the great culling of humanity.
without clear vision or insight they are racing to make a few things come true: (1) somehow magically LLMs and data centers will replace x number of workers. (2) hunter-killer drones can be manufactured by distributed fully automated factories and controlled directly by them through a MAVEN type interface, elimating the need for human security forces. (3) and finally they can cull and soften us up in a controlled manner hopefully avoiding a nuclear war during the process (so pandemics, civil wars, pollution, climate deaths, starvation, genocides etc). they have to have all these things align perfectly. the model is that they will live in a distributed israel type network state and the rest of us, the entire world, will be one big Gaza
none of these techbros understand this isn't possible but they think it's the only way they can survive. it's either this or we overthrow them. they over estimate how radicalized everyone is against them (they literally believe communists are everywhere, it's not hyperbole, they actually believe we are legion).

I was thinking more from a logistics point of view to be honest, because while I know that they don't give a damn about peoples lives, they might give a damn about a bajillion corpses and the sanitary problems that causes.
