Is treason a crime against "the national interest" or against "the state apparatus"? I think !floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com is referring to the former but in practice people are only ever hung for the latter
Isn't serving the interest of a foreign nation over those of the country for which you are president pretty much the definition of treason? What the fuck does "the state apparatus" even mean? Corruption?
I'm using "state apparatus" to mean all the networks and hierarchies and institutions that wield the true power of a state.
In the US empire the state apparatus is either blindly supportive of or captured by Israel in all visible cases
