How do you pirate a physical copy?

[–] homes@piefed.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You might enjoy a visit to your local library!

[–] Entertainmeonly@lemmy.blahaj.zone -4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Do they magically have Buffet Infinity?

[–] homes@piefed.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I don’t know where you live, so I can’t visit your local library to find out. But, if they do, it won’t be because of magic.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–] Entertainmeonly@lemmy.blahaj.zone -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It would have to be magic as the movie has no physical release. Wtf.

[–] homes@piefed.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Someone could download the movie, burn it to disc, and then donate it to a local library. Nothing magic about that. Unless personal generosity is magic.

Name one public library that carries pirated movies. I'll wait.

Entertainmeonly is implying that public libraries don't accept pirated movies at all, so nobody will find an example.

What countries are you folks in? Here in the USA I've never seen a pirated movie at the library.

Here in the USA I've never seen a pirated movie at the library.

It is foolish to assume that just because you have never seen something that it must therefore be impossible to exist

I have personally donated several pirated DVDs and Blurays to my local library.

It is possible if you have the will and determination to do such a thing.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

Which library was this?

[–] homes@piefed.world -1 points 1 week ago

Why would I do that?

Possible options:

  1. Rob hard drives from the editors which hopefully still have the whole movie on them
  2. Pirate it, then burn it to DVD (or just keep in digital format since that’s easier nowadays)

If you have any questions about what sites to avoid so you don’t accidentally pirate anything fmhy.net has many links to streaming sites, torrenting sites, and guides for how and where to safely pirate various types of media.

  1. Donate a copy to your local library!

Currently, Buffet Infinity does not appear to be on any of those sites :(

[–] EncryptKeeper@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I’m not going to give advice on how to pirate, but you should understand that physical media like DVDs and Bluray are just digital content burned into a physical disk.

So if you were to acquire a digital copy of something, and some physical media you could save it to, you would wind up with a physical copy of that thing.
