I used to work at Blockbuster. (am old)
They required a credit card to open an account. They would charge this account for late fees if you hadn't paid them in 30 days or so. Their computer system didn't check for valid credit card #s. The entire time I worked there, I misstyped almost every credit card number on a new account.
Obviously with people changing accounts and cards expiring, the failure rate when we charged these accounts was always high and nobody ever said anything about it.
nah that was me. i pooped in the employee shitter once but did not flush (greg knows what he did)
I worked for blockbuster's biggest rival, Hollywood video. They would actually process a $1 hold on cards entered into the system. And HV caved before blockbuster did.
