law and order and columbo are old people shows. i'm not the subreddit poster who wanted to fuck the bunny cop.
honestly 80s action movies are old people shit too ~~but i liked some of them~~. zootopia is the only one of those that people under 30 probably were into
so about that new harry potter show...
Columbo is goated.
The issue with harry potter isn't it's content, but its production as far as I understand it. The content of Harry Potter is average libshit, it's all the surrounding stuff that has made harry potter be more than just media consumption.
Kind of similar to how I find the press about the new game ZA/UM releases to be more than just annoying, and how I would consider it to be some sort of moral failure to buy it if the buyer knows anything about what has happened.
Basically the people who made the game got ratfucked out of the studio and the IP by the people who financed part of the development. The financers took control of the studio and then hired a bunch of new people (From what I could read a lot of rich brits among them, the types that usually get to have some say in culture because their parents have money and connections, vapid saltburn types. Some I assume are good people) and are now releasing this new game that is talked about in OPs image.
They then tried to do PR management by sharing stories about how the lead on the game development was a bit of an asshole, while not really going into who he was an asshole to or why or giving time to the many other people also fucked out of the company who also were really pissed about how everything went down.
Some would say this is a biased retelling. I would say it is not biased enough
Happy to help. If you ever decide to look into it more, please avoid People Make Games video on what happened. Worst piece of video game journalism I've ever seen, which is an incredible feat.
People hate harry potter because jk Rowling spends the money it earns on oppressing trans people and explicitly says that the popularity of harry potter shows that she's right to do so, not because it's lib slop.
It can always be both. Harry Potter didn't actually teach a generation to read so much as it taught a generation to not read anything else.
Dont you dare drag Columbo down with Law and Order. Columbo is absolutely fantastic. Columbo somehow got a job where he only investigates murders where the suspect is rich and then defeats them by being overwhelmingly working class at them until they break down
Wth that sounds awesome. Guess I'm starting Columbo tomorrow.
Columbo is a reverse whoddunnit every episode, which is also so cool. Best episode is probably any old port in a storm, but they're all great. They're all standalone, so you can watch in any order you'd like
Each episode is a TV movie, so they're all about an hour. Columbo was on a rotation with 2 other mystery shows doing the same thing at the time. So it aired once every 3 weeks and was longer and higher budget than most tv. So just be prepared for a longer sit. The first episode is based on the stage play the character came from and was meant to be a one off and then theres a pilot movie, whixh are both great but theres kind of a season 0 to look for that way. First episode of season 1 is directed by Spielberg before he was famous
it's still old people shit because it's old. that's not a quality indicator i was explaining why somebody might've not watched any of that shit on account of not being old
Poor guy made one post that was kinda cringe and now he'll never live it down
To be fair it was very cringe
You can watch something with the full expectation of hating it. I honestly do that as much as I watch things I actually like, though I wouldn't recommend that habit in particular.
