It is important to remember that there is no "Good™️" side in this conflict of dipshits.
It is perfectly okay to hate EVERYONE involved.
Siding with Iranians for being the victims of an ethno-Fascist aggressor state were over 70% of the population sees them as "vermin" because of being Muslim in the very same spirit as the Nazis saw Jews and Roma as "vermin" and a Fascist aggressor state with a long history of wars of aggression in the Middle East which caused hundreds of thousands and even millions of civilians deaths, and whose President right now is a sociopath pedophile who wants to steal their Oil, isn't the same as siding with the Regime in Iran.
Mind you, right now I do support the Regime in Iran to win this war, not because I like them in any way form or shape but because right now they're the only thing stopping Iranians from suffering the same fate as Palestinians at the hands of the Zionists - a 21st century version of the Nazis - which in a country of 90 million could be a new Holocaust which would make the NAZI Holocaust look insignificant.
There are very few, if any, Regimes in the World right now which are more evil than the one in Israel and in recent history maybe only the Nazis beat them and the Zionists are working hard at surpassing them.
In this specific conflict, one of them was not the aggressor, so I am still on their side within that specific context. They're still a horrible regime, though.
Do we have an unbiased source to confirm these numbers? Not doubting that they killed people, but the numbers coming out were so outrageous that my bullshit detector immediately went off.
I think it was ~3k last time I checked on AP which listed it from several Iranian health orgs reporting both deaths and injuries.
The 30k that CBS pulled out of its ass was definitely fake though.

You could argue they did in losing public support making regime change remotely plausible and then the massacre against their civilians, the upcoming mass executions and a very likely repetition of the unrest had the war not fired.

Iran is a theocracy that recently massacred thousands of its citizens, but it's not fascist in any sense of the word.
There are plenty of ways to frame fascism -- just compare 1930s Italy and Germany to find sticking points -- so we don't really have a definition everyone agrees upon. I think one can argue that Iran has plenty of the hallmarks:
Out of these only 1.5 aren't just plain old authoritarianism, and out of those opposing cultural liberalism is just conservatism. As for the other, what does "an exclusivist cultural identity" even mean? Fascism requires a lot more than conservative authoritarianism. While some of these points are partially or fully present in Iran, there's a clear difference between the Ayatollah regime and, say, Putin's Russia and Trump's America.

There are 2 fascist imperialist demons both of which are/were settler states. Both have carried out countless genocides in middle east in the name of freedom and democracy. We also know there is an aggressor. There is no both sides in imperialist war. Iranian govt being fascist at home doesnt impact the situation even one bit, its an international crisis not domestic.
