Hey comrades :)
I’m writing this with a bit of shyness but also trust in this community. I’m a trans refugee living in Juba, South Sudan with a few of my sisters and things have been really hard lately.
Some of you helped us not long ago when our sister Charity was jailed. I still think about that support a lot. Because of that solidarity we were able to clear the bail and bring her back home and it meant the world to us.
Right now we’re facing another tough moment. A few days ago we cooked the last rice we had in the kitchen and since then we’ve mostly just been taking hot water with sugar to get through the day. It’s not something I love admitting but I want to stay honest with the people who have shown us kindness here.
We’re trying to raise about $185 so we can buy some basic groceries rice, flour and cooking oil just enough to steady things in the house for the week.
I know a lot of people everywhere are struggling too, so please don’t feel pressured. But if anyone is able to send $5 or $10 or even just bump or share this post so more people see it… it would really help us right now.
Thank you for reading and for the care people in spaces like this continue to show. It really does mean more than I can explain.
Support link is in my profile. If anyone is able
What are the long term prospects for this house? Is it rented or owned, and how big is the building/property?
thanks love for asking …it’s a rented place not owned. a few of us share it together here in Juba. it’s pretty small but at least it gives us a roof and somewhere a bit safer to stay.
right now we’re mostly just trying to get through the day to day things like food and keeping the place going. long term we’re still figuring things out slowly.
