Fandom is such a toxic concept nowadays.
Do I personally like the show? No. But it's not for me. I'm old. It's a new world with new demographics to cater to and new viewers to appeal to.
So it's perfectly okay that it's not for me. It's not as though my trek has vanished. It's still there whenever I want to watch it. My trek is literally everywhere. Pluto TV, Paramount Plus, or the crap-tonne of DVD's I've collected over the years.
Society has changed, writing styles have changed, audiences have changed. Get over it, people. How come people can't not watch something while shutting the fuck up about it? Why does your dislike of a property give you the right to make other people's lives miserable.
As social creatures, when humans form a community or identity their amygdala fires when that community or identity is threatened, exactly the same as when they’re given a physical threat.
Sounds like excuses to bully people. Just go find another show and let alone the people who want to enjoy it.
