Genocide and war aren't mutually exclusive
Right, but war implies it isn't one side being massacred by the other because they don't really have any army to fight back with.
Calling the Gaza Genocide a war hides the fact that there isn't really any kind of armed resistance to Israel and that they're just straight up trying to ethnically cleanse Gaza while colonizing it.
Hides it from who? Some dude who has lived under a rock and thinks a war of aggression is a good thing?
Not everyone is completely up on current events, and no one said it was a good thing.
Our words shape our thoughts. Call it like it is and don't hide behind linguistics to soften the blow. Also, calling it a war is exactly what Israel wants, since calling it the genocide that it is makes them look all the more worse and keeps their genocidal actions in the forefront of the conversation.
Just call it what it is and stop using words that diminish he horrors that Israel is doing. Or keep calling it a war and playing into the Israeli propaganda.
We call WW2 a war despite all of the horrors against humanity was done during that. So why is this any different?
What part of WW2 would you compare to Gazans? Would it be one of the sides that's fighting in the war, or the people subjugated by an occupying power that had no regard for their lives? And did we call that war or was there another name for that🤔
The indiscriminate slaughter of citizens of both Germany and foreign nations to replace them with "superior people". See holocaust
Because there aren't two sides here. WW2 was a war, the Holocaust was not.
