We're doing a big lie 2.0 democrat edition now? The fact is she started from behind, was making serious ground, and completely fumbled by pivoting to moderate Republicans.
Americans inability to hold 2 non mutually exclusive facts in their head at the same time is why a demented idiot like trump fooled you all.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_efforts_to_disrupt_the_2024_United_States_presidential_election
Harris' pivot to the right absolutely killed her momentum... but ALSO the GOP cheated.
Changing voting laws is absolutely how the GOP is trying to rig elections. That's not a mystery or even in doubt. It's the people that are claiming voting machines were rigged that are preaching the big lie 2.0.
Changing laws is, like 1 of 30 different ways the GOP is trying to rig elections.
Cool, what are the other 29?
Gerrymandering
Fake electors
Being suspiciously cozy with the business owners of voting machine companies
Voter intimidation by posting ICE/CBP at polls
Voter intimidation by stochastic terrorism using their most rabid followers
Closing polling places in liberal areas to cause longer lines at the few remaining locations
New voter ID laws, including that one that could disenfranchise anyone who has ever changed their name (especially married women and trans people)
Trying to make voting by mail illegal
Trying to invalidate mail-in votes by any means possible
Calling election officials and asking them to """find""" just enough votes to change the outcome
Trying to cancel the election entirely due to some "emergency" bullshit (despite the US never having canceled a single election in its entire history, including during the Civil War)
Chanting to stop the count when they're ahead, and chanting to keep counting when they're behind
Filing dozens of (failed) court cases in attempts to overturn election results
...to name a few.
Maybe I was being hyperbolic with "30". Maybe. We're at 14 now. I bet if you dig deep enough, you can find at least 30 ways the GOP is trying to rig elections.
Gerrymandering doesn't help with national elections like the presidential election
Fake electors is legit, but didn't get used
Suspicion isn't evidence
ICE wasn't at the polls for 2024 that I'm aware of
I don't feel the need to continue as your list seems mostly speculative of future elections and not relevant to the 2024 election.
Edit: I do want to be clear that most of these are very valid concerns for future elections. Just not when discussing Harris losing.
Yea so go talk to those people instead of me. Like did you just not bother to read everything I wrote? All 3 sentences?? FFS.
People like you muddy the waters with your lazy engagement style.
That's an overreaction. Not only did I read your comment, I also read through the Wikipedia entry you posted. Hence why I referenced the topic it covered. I don't know what your problem is, but it's not with me.
You read it after you got called out, bullshitter
Then why did my post address the topic you talked about? Again, you seem to have a problem, but it's not with me.
Where did I mention the voting machines? You brought that up, not me. My problem is with you and every idiot like you who conflates everything dishonestly like you do.
I stated an opinion thats not completely baseless and you conflated me with MAGAs big lie. Like fuck you buddy.
Thats muddying the waters and part of the reason we can't have nice things. Cuz while some people actually read and listen to others... people like you never stfu.
So, I'm not allowed to add to the conversation for added clarity? What a ridiculous stance to take.
But it is mostly baseless. Especially when you just make a blanket, they cheated claim. That's exactly what MAGA did. Again something is wrong with you and it isn't me. Good luck with your future endeavors in life.
There were significant statistical aberrations and deviations in more than a few swing districts, in terms of the vote spread over time. And there were shockingly sweeping changes made to the configuration files of voting machines very shortly before the election. And the companies that make and deploy the electronic voting machines we use nationwide are largely controlled by a small handful of companies that have a… shall we say, deeply suspicious quantity and depth of personal ties to right-wing mega donors and politicians.
Nothing conclusive, unfortunately… but that’s also because they’ve destroyed most of the data in places where it’s not illegal to do so (which is most places).
So no, it’s not actually tin-foil-hatty to be skeptical of the veracity of the outcome of the 2024 election. Unfortunately, there’s essentially fuck-all anyone can do about it at this point.
Guarantee the person you're replying to didn't read that before downvoting.
edit: Musk sent prefilled absentee ballots... https://www.theverge.com/tech/882838/georgia-elon-musk-america-pac-voter-fraud
He also had a FUCKING LOTTERY.
More keeps coming out... which is the exact polar opposite of the dozens of court cases that disproved trumps big lie.
I did read it. And this is the only part that matters
If there's proof, maybe she should have done something about it instead of folding? Anything to keep the falsehood of our democracy alive?
Yep. As soon as she conceded, it legally doesn't matter if the Trump campaign cheated. When she conceded the election, that locked in the result, regardless of what might come to light later.
My pet theory is that Dems don't want election rigging to come to light ... because then people might start looking at the primaries as well.
Take a look at this before dismissing these concerns out of hand.
So Harris should have tried harder and chose not to. What a candidate.
Their own post says
Couldn't possibly be that the unpopular candidate lost an popularity contest...
Exactly. A candidate that was behind in the polls and prediction markets lost. No conspiracy needed.
