It's eight books in total (sorry) but I'd love to see a TV adaptation of Julian May's Saga of Pliocene Exile and the associated Galactic Milieu novels. Apparently, it was in the running vs. The Wheel Of Time ... perhaps I should be grateful it lost!
Otherwise, and looking at more modern stuff:
1899, Kaos, Constantine, and The Bastard Son of the Devil Himself.
It hurt to lose 1899 just when things were getting interesting.
Indeed, especially knowing what might have been in store from the makers of DARK.
