Did they change the lyrics? I was trying to listen but was a noisy environment at my house.

No, they didn't do the MAGA agenda bit.

Agreed, but still big brass balls.

Maga heads would have exploded a la Mars Attacks

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

That'd be a beautiful moment but I'm picturing more of a Kingsman ending.

They would sing along having no idea it was making fun of them.

[–] agingelderly@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Lol they'd turn it into their anthem

[–] VoteNixon2016@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 months ago

Put it up there with "Fortunate Son" and "Born in the U.S.A."

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Maga agenda? Isn't the lyric "redneck agenda"?

[–] cabbage@piefed.social 10 points 3 months ago

They've changed it in recent years, apparently changed it back for the half time show.

I suspect a lot of things would have been said had the artists been allowed to say what they wanted. I'm impressed and disappointed by their professionalism.

Then again, within the constraints of not saying anything political, it seems both Bad Bunny and Green Day did a decent job getting their points across.

To me it sounded like they did but the audio was censored.

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They censored the word "mindfuck."

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I know but they censored that too.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 months ago

Which ironically makes Green Day American Idiots.

Unfortunately no, I was hoping for a direct call out too
