You can send it to me. I'll take it gladly.

This fixation on jack truly weirds me out. It's not a good connector, at all, I am actually happy we finally got rid of it. I always had to plug it with something so it doesn't accumulate all the dust and dirt.

I don't miss people asking me why they can't plug in headphones and I check and theres like a ball bearing or some other stupid shit in there.

people these days love their shitty bt earbuds anyway

Sure, but then you should be pushing for two USB ports per phone, right? Because Bluetooth headphones are shit for both batteries, and a single-port phone requires, at minimum, a weird dongle to charge and listen at the same time, creating a single, cumbersome point of failure for the only extant jack.

I'd be down for multiple usb ports. I've thought about making a custom case to integrate a charge passthrough hub before but it always ends up in the stalled projects pile.

That sounds super fun and useful!

Just like they loved shitty wired phones before

kids these days won't understand having to have their headphone plugs rotated and tilted just right then wrapped to hold it for the sound to work... and back then we bought them ourselves for like 9 bucks

Fuck I hated it so so much

Does the USB C truly not address this issue? That's what head phones have now.

It would, if there were more than one port, allowing you to simultaneously charge and use the headphone jack without a fucking dongle.

Does it have more than one usb port, so that you can simultaneously charge and listen to wired headphones without a ridiculous dongle? If not, then I'll take the jack, thanks. I don't want to have to keep ANOTHER device charged just so that I can have the privilege of using one of the basic functionalities for which smartphone were originally designed, nor should I have to choose between listening and charging. It's that simple.

E: FURTHERMORE, not only does a Bluetooth connection require battery-based headphones which quickly lose power when connected, but it ALSO drains the phone's battery even faster.

In modern phones, BT connection takes so little energy, it's basically margins anyway, you'll never get another day of charge by disabling it, so it doesn't matter anyway, you will have to charge it in the evening anyway. It's only a consideration for an super specific situations that majority of people wouldn't find themselves ever. Modern phones (ones without jack) can't not have good enough batteries so it really really doesn't matter.
And that's why I'm weirded out by how many people have this specific situation when they have to have wired headphones, but then refuse to have it so there is slightly more plastic at the end of those wires, for times when they just have to have a phone charging while they listen to music. I truly cannot understand why this specific contrived scenario is so important.
