The main Issue with OceanGate sub was its experimental carbon fibre hull, that is thought to have developed microfractures on previous trips before the final
Not the depth alone, but it was going deeper than these traditional metal-hulled private/recreational subs do
More importantly the CEO was doing all this in an attempt to PROFIT from his lower-cost design
