Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

The cracker ethos: Jewish feelings > Palestinian lives
The liberal "pro-palestinians" tut-tutting the victims of genocide by the self-declared "Jewish state" for not picking their words carefully enough are just zionists by another name.
I seriously hate them. How fucking dare they muddy the memory of the holocaust and it's victims by bastardizing it to commit a new genocide and erasing all the non-jewish victims and how fucking dare they police the words of people currently being genocided for the sake of the feelings of mostly white people. I'm not gonna act like it's a big conspiracy about how "the jews control the world" they only get away with this cause the west needs their settler colony to last for them to have control over the middle east but you might as well be hitler if you act like jewish people aren't a hivemind that blindly bow down to israel in their eyes. Would they police the language and actions of the people in the warsaw ghetto? Why are certain people entitled to an ethnostate? Not to mention how tons of groups have been in control of Palestine besides jewish people throughout the times but euro-centric history is all they know. The antisemitism they're creating by defending the actions of israel truly is mind boggling but they seem ignorant to it. "Nowhere is safe for us" and for poc and people in the global south it is??? They act like the only group of people in the world to be oppressed and genocided and no wonder with how much western media only highlights what is convenient to their goals. Sick and tired I ain't even making sense.

P.S. a friend of mine is a lecturer and it’s truly jaw-dropping the number of whites who feel comfortable to have cracker tantrums in class if the professor says anything “woke”. Tell me again who’s “uppity”?
Nothing, absolutely nothing, pisses me off more than hearing this shit. Is there a chance that they could run into people that are legit anti-semites? Yes. But how is sustaining the colonial project that is Israel any safer for them when they are provoking wars all the time? Meanwhile you have all these zionists living in the comfort of the imperial core without a chance of facing an ounce of the violence that is being inflicted on Middle Eastern people by Israel.
Always the white ones saying it too, it's like white people feel the need to cosplay as more oppressed than they truly are. In this day and age no jewish person is more at risk than anti-zionist jewish people from the actual antisemites and the rest of the jewish community.
Seriously, this is why I think the acknowledgment that, in the current year, Jews are not systemically oppressed (specifically for being Jewish) needs to be emphasized.
If I said this anywhere else I'd be hung and quartered which proves your point cause literally no minority, certainly no non-white group would ever be defended like this while committing ethnic cleansing. Tired of crakkker whining.

Fucking preach, they'll never know what it's fucking like and even within jewish spaces non-white jewish people get the short end of the stick. Antisemitism is an issue but this is like white women who complain about being the most oppressed while hiding behind their white identities. It's eurocentrism to ignore the countless groups who governed in Palestine before and after the jewish people yet only act like they're the ones who have the right to that land just as it is to focus on the history of antisemetism mostly in europe to justify borderline jewish supremacism and ignoring all kinds of bigotry besides antisemitism. Fuck anybody who contributes to it and may we see a fully liberated Palestine and the fall of the west in our lifetime.
Of all the whites I’ve had tell me they were going to do this since 2016, not a single one has actually done it, because ultimately they are not materially affected, ICE is never going to come for them (their “activism” is limited to making a post on Bluesky every month) and they aren’t willing to give up their comfortable lives to cosplay as refugees. A democrat will win in 2028 and ICE will go back to only killing POC and everything will be normal again.
As far as I can tell it’s just a conversation topic for the dinner table. Same thing as that one temporarily-embarrassed-millionaire relative talking about how this is the year they’re finally gonna quit that minimum wage job and invest in crypto/AI and become a trillionaire or whatever. Every year for the last 10 years.
