Hundreds of protesters gathered in a central square in Milan on Saturday, demanding that U.S. ICE agents assisting with security at the Winter Olympics leave Italy.

Many of the Italians who chanted and blew whistles near the grand stone arch in the Piazza XXV Aprile said they had been horrified and angered by images and videos on social media showing ICE agents operating violently in Minneapolis.

"All the videos are public and everyone can see what's happening," said Bruna Scanziani, age 18, who held up a sign with photographs of Renee Macklin Good and Alex Pretti, two American citizens killed by ICE agents. "The perception of America has changed."

So american tax payer here. Why are ice agents in another country point blank period? I'm not expert on juristiction, but it sure feels like an "immigration" agency's ends at the border

ICE are trump's praetorian guard, a paid trip to Europe and the Olympics on company time is a reward for loyalty shown to the executive over the people.

Pretorian Guard?

God I hope not, they'll end up accidentally shooting everyone

[–] ryathal@sh.itjust.works 3 points 8 hours ago

On the plus side, the guard also killed a good number of the people they were supposedly protecting....

You'd be surprised how many people in Italy don't have US citizenship.

ICE in Italy - "You are not American citizens, so we must kidnap you to America so we can deport you from america!"

The CIIRRCLE OF FASCIIISM

The thing that is being buried by most headlines and maybe articles is that ICE is a part of Department of Homeland Security. One such part of DSH is Homeland Security Investigations. People are conflating the two. HSI has been for many years at such international events with a U.S. presence to conduct investigations regarding international crime and terrorism.

HSI is very much a part of the problem here.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 1 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I should have clarified that it is HSI that is there, not ICE.

They're doing "customs" enforcement.
