my fear is that, by increasing the age of consent too much will legitimize older people to hook up with young teenagers. Ex. Let's say, for absurd, that we raise the age of consent to 25. This means that the law will consider a 24 years old and a 14 years old equally incapable of giving consent, thinking and acting for themselves etc

It wouldn't. It would require a dedicated server to ping constantly and also an API that applications should use to ask the computer for age in background. Everyone could therefore us this data to fingerprint users..this makes everything even dumber and more prone for mass surveillance

I get why many of them are like this. Many of them are too overworked to spend quality time with their children and childcare in America and many other countries could easily bankrupt a whole family in a single month. Moreover, children spend too much time indoors. Screens or not, staying too much time inside worsen the child's development in all fronts: physical development, psychological and cerebral development and even worsen sight
The few parents who actually do have the time to spend with their children just don't understand how impactful of that is

Assuming there's no major difference between men and women excluding their gender roles, I don't get why would anyone want to reinforce the same system that oppresses them. Maybe it would be more effective to teach people that their gender has nothing to do with the person they are instead of pushing transgenderism to little children who can't even conceptualize the concept of gender yet

If they really don't like the gender they're assigned at birth they can do that later in life when their brain is developed enough to make conscious choices. Transgender people are like 1% of the population and 99% of the population is cisgender, it makes no sense at all to do that considering it's an incredibly small minority of people. If percentages were like 40% or people, that would have been understandable but psychological burden and straight up confusion is too large and the good intentions don't justify the psychological burden

Hello everybody! I'm a student living and studying in south Italy. As you might already know, there have been a few protests made by Ultima Generazione (Brutally translated: Last Generation) which have been object of debate and disputes (and mostly critiques)
I'm afraid that Italian politicians are now exploiting these protests to indoctrinate people into hating environmentalism. In my personal experience, I've seen plenty of people who used to support environmentalist protests starting to, I wouldn't say hate, but at least distancing themselves from the environmentalist cause (regardless of the age)
Know here's the question: Have there been similar protests in your country? What about the reaction of the media and the public?

It is arbitrary man. We can't even state that 16 years old is too much or not enough because it depends on the culture. We can't even use the argument about people teenagers not being 100% cerebrally developed since recent studies proved that we are not until our mid 30s, but I don't think a 25 years old isn't able to consent.
