Harry Potter just also isn't very good. It's dreck, which to anyone here is obviously a result of jk Rowling having such a non material liberal worldview. There's no cohesive piecing together of all the shit she writes into a believable, breathing world because she has no interest or ability in examining things at such a detailed level as to make it work. So every bit of her worldbuilding ends up being cotton candy that dissolves under the slightest scrutiny.

She was successful because she was boosted up by the NYT and other media in a self reinforcing cycle of sales but 20 years later we have other ways of being exposed to new and better written media

I love Brennan Lee Mulligan's critique of Harry Potter. He focuses in on using owls for mail, while teleportation is a common thing.
