Exactly, in the article he sees the problem but instead of using his money to help he fucks off to be safe. He may not be an asshole but he's a a bit cowardish for it I feel even if he can still help from NZ it's more likely he will just focus on his life there than try to put out the gordian garbage fire that is the US
Why does a canadian have an obligation to help the US?
He owns more wealth, property, and control of businesses in the US than well over 99% of Americans.
The most effective thing he can do it take that tax revenue out of the US. Now New Zealand and Canada will be reaping all the benefits of having him there

Oh no, its well documented that he's a raging asshole. Fuck James Cameron.
Cameron will be forgotten once he leaves the Hollywood media bubble. He's never been politically influential, and his short intervals of fame relied solely on 2 movies. But his fame from Titanic and Avatar has mostly died out.
He could always make an anti-Trump film, and have the EU fund it.
