The number of clowns in Canada who drive around after clearing the minimum amount of snow necessary to drive their car and see out their windsheild. Beyond lazy

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 0 points 13 hours ago

That's me, I'll carry around hundreds of lbs of snow on the roof and fenders of my Wrangler for weeks.

The person in the screenshot has cleared their entire windshield instead of a minimal viewport, that's above average already

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"Entire windshield" is a very generous description. There's still quite a bit of snow that seems to mostly have been pushed around by the wiper blades.

Clear is clear bub. Looks like amateur hour though, no blue streaks from the 2 liters of winter washer fluid needed to melt the wipers free first.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

If that's the case, then it's clearly not clear.

Swedish police started considering snow on the hood, windows, or roof as "unsecured cargo" and issuing fines of 1500kr (~€150). Repeat offences can cost you your licence. We'll see how much of a difference it makes. Can't say that I've noticed any particularly bad cases this winter.

Its not just canada, its anywhere that gets snow regularly. I've lived throughout the northeast US and there's these idiots everywhere.

Lived in Massachusetts for a decade, it ain’t just Canadians lemme tell ya

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Anywhere there is snow there is people too negligent to clean it off properly.

[–] BootLoop@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The worst is when the back window is covered with fluffy snow and you can see that there's a rear wiper. Like all you have to do is press a single button but apparently that is too much.

[–] zod000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 13 hours ago

That's clearly a Canadian spy car. They have a button that drops the snow to disrupt bad guys following them.

[–] guy@piefed.social 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Lmao that wiper is frozen stuck to the windshield

[–] BootLoop@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That's why I said "fluffy snow". Fluffy snow does not freeze wipers to windows.

[–] Zoot@reddthat.com 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It can if it rained the night before. Ask me how I know. (I do clean my car far better than most people, I've had trucks blanket my entire windshield before and fuck doing that too someone else).

Anyway though yeah I've found out the hard way my back windshield wiper don't wanna move at all even after a light dusting lol.

[–] guy@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

I've might have had cars with a weak back wiper but there's only one type of snow that it can manage to wipe away and that's packing snow. 😅 All other types will leave the wiper stuck in the morning

And then there's this guy...https://globalnews.ca/news/6377799/bc-rcmp-want-to-talk-to-driver-about-questionable-snowmobile-transportation/

As indicated in the article, this feels like a very Alberta solution to no truck

[–] Saapas@piefed.zip 6 points 1 day ago

Hey! I'm not lazy! I'm just in a rush, totally different!
