I don't think xep came across as sanctimonious, your response is a bit rude. It’s a fediverse where people are allowed to have a say.
I don't like delivery apps and I also make an effort to eat at local spots and order from those who are small and do their own delivery. My point would also be if you don’t like the business practice then vote with your wallet and don’t use the business uber/just eat etc. Will I be swore at for saying this?
I hate greedy and hate big business but the truth is if they didn’t have customers it wouldn’t occur.

Ok so even if it does this is a conversation. Address it rather than return it with rudeness. The answer could be I like a takeaway and I don't always feel like cooking. There’s enough people out there willing to be rude or argumentative. Rather than feed it, is calling it out with a positive action a better outcome.
It's a tangential distraction largely unrelated to the topic at hand.
In this context it's worth being dismissive of.

Wouldn’t not using these apps en masse drive them out of business? Then they’d have no platform to do their evil. Hardly a distraction. It’s a very rational boycott.
