3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. 5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Not particularly possible because to this administration if you are not contributing to the illegal BS your not doing your job right and must be fired
I'm a big fan of "fuck quitting, make them fire you" and collecting a paycheck while doing basically nothing until they actually do it themselves. I'm not making their job easier when they deserve to get fucked over.
It’s the Trump administration. The second you not do as ordered you get the boot.
Being hyperbolic I grant you but point is getting rid of opposition within the Executive Branch is rather easy for the administration to do
Sure. Which is why when they say "do this thing" you say "ok" and then wait a day or two and just send an email. If you get a response, sit on it for a while. If you don't, wait until you get asked about it to follow up.
https://www.cia.gov/stories/story/the-art-of-simple-sabotage/
That document was created before the CIA existed, for use during WWII. It was written to encourage citizens under fascist regimes to work against their government and industries.
If you would prefer, it's hosted on Project Gutenberg. Just search "simple sabotage"
Oh, totally fair, i kind of figured that was your concern. Just telling you where to find it. Also, giving an explanation as to why the CIA is being cited, and why it is actually much more reasonable than trying to take anything the modern CIA would produce at face value.
That being said, the document demonstrates an almost farcical lack of care for the safety of the saboteur, giving many suggestions which surely, even at that time, must have been near-guaranteed to lead to capture of the saboteur.
That’s probably why the CIA shares the information. Makes catching opposition easier when they commit actions that have serious safety flaws.
Yes. Only to get fired anyway.
Make them do it. Don’t do their work for them.
Just say you are and drag your feet. Take SL randomly, make all sorts of errors that will cause paperwork and court filings to have to be redone. Just play idiot until they eventually fire you.
Now why do that when they already do so (well some of the time anyways.)
Public unions still exist. It's not always as easy as you might think.
Ok you're right, they should just shut the fuck up and quit.
And that is what resignations from government is. It is quitting, just with the option to come back later in the future (which I imagine a lot of the federal staff want to do should the Trump administration be finally gone.)
I know, and I'm saying it's cowardly and short sighted.
Well, it's all about the politics.
In other words, reality is irrelevant. All that matters is the messaging. If you resign, you get to start all the political bullshit on message. If you are fired, whoever fired you sets the stage instead.
Career politicians are a cancer on society. And if they cared about achievements or legacy, they would absolutely not be successful in making politics their career.
Ok, then make them fire you
“We need you to file the payment roles of the DHS Federal agents.”
“Yeah no.”
“Your fired then.”
If you try to avoid or be slow.
“We noticed you had not done the thing per the decree, you are fired.”
Yeah, you'd be really bad at this I guess. No creativity.
How about:
"OK boss"
Then do it wrong.
"You messed this up, please do it again"
"OK boss, I'll make sure to do it right this time"
Then do it wrong again.
etc.
And that's like zero creativity, with three seconds of thought. Most of these people are union. It takes a lot to get fired from a union job.
Nope mess up first time and you get the boot. The retry only if you are a definitive loyalist.
Well, you'd at least be able to do one good thing from the inside to earn that "not contributing" badge of honor before you leave. Better than leaving without it.
What I mean is that you're already on the inside, an opportunity a lot of people would love to have. Even if all you do is call one person to warn them they're being watched before putting in your resignation, it's better than quitting without doing that.
I work for a normal company, but even I'd be able to do a lot of damage in a couple hours if I really wanted to screw over my employer before leaving. Information is a big part of any conflict; even just sending whatever sensitive information you happen to have on hand to some interested parties can really throw a wrench in the works.
That's why I mentioned damage done in a couple hours - you're not going to be fired until you do the thing you're being fired over. It's not like they automatically know when someone is planning to do something they're going to be fired over; even if they somehow immediately knew you were up to something, you could probably at least attach some sensitive documents to one email before they grab you and throw you out of the building.
So just do nothing and quietly quit instead? Who is upvoting this shit?
I think maybe you don't understand how government work works... Chances are, they wouldn't even be noticed for a while. If they do it well, it will never be noticed at all ever.
In this situation it’s going to get noticed quickly. We are talking Trump’s projects. Any failure has the lower folks digging around to figure out what went wrong.
And well you simple accountant, it’s not a secret you are not a party member, so doesn’t seem odd you being the fault (and surprise you are because you decided to quiet quit and not file your documents correctly.)
Bud, what? We're talking about people who were working day after day without being fired who suddenly had enough and decided to leave. They weren't in imminent danger of being fired prior to their resignation. So, the morning when they come in to turn in their (unexpected!) resignation, they do what they can to fuck things up a bit beforehand. Yeah, you're right that the government could go after them for it if they weren't smart enough to cover their tracks, but let's be honest - the current government will likely go after them for leaving regardless.
No they were, the only reason not fired yet is not having been given decrees questionable just the regular stuff that one would have excepted working with the DOJ.
But now the office is topped into the ICE Raids and asked to find anything to make Good out as the villain. So now there is no keep your head down, it’s either contribute or leave.
As for going after for leaving no the administration won’t “good, makes our interest in removing those not loyal easy.” Being the thought process. Now if the resigned people pop up during any activist matters then sure, but because they are interfering.
Public unions. Not everyone in the federal government is appointed, most of them aren't. Most of the rest are still protected by a union.
Normally yes. Trump with his mass firings and even EOs disbanding some (or at least no longer recognizing the CBAs.) has put Union protections in shaky grounds.
Not to mention the Supreme Court has been rather Union buster friendly
Good point, its better to just give up and quit. Why test your union's ability to protect you from being fired when you can just quit?
So what are you doing? In a fascist regime even normal companies are enabling the regime. You are supporting its economy and generating taxes. Ideally there would be a general strike (I am afraid this is the only way for this to end peacefully).
