Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

I donβt know how common this is, but my client(Voyager) has an option to block keywords (βTrumpβ, βDOJβ, βICEβ, etcβ¦?)which could be one strategy.
Thanks! But Summit doesn't seem to have this feature.
I'm on Summit as well and have the option to block keywords.
Settings > Look and Feel > Post Feed > Filters > Keyword Filters
Then you can do the same thing under "Post and Comments" (instead of "Post Feed") if you want even more blocking.
I'd love that but I only have those prefs?
Get to the feed setting from the menu here
And then the settings all the way at the bottom
Or from here
Then
And scroll to the bottom for filters
Note: it will block other words, so if you block trump and musk, you won't see things about trumpets or muskrats, at least as of a while back. It was blocking one of my own posts, and I bug reported it, but then was told it's a pretty basic filter.
Thank you so much!
Works perfectly, sanity restored π
You appear to be in the "Lemmy Web Preferences" section, not "Look and Feel." Maybe we're accessing settings from different places somehow: I go to my profile picture in the upper right corner, it pops open a half-menu, and I use the option at the bottom to access my settings.
I might be blind but no see of 'look and feel', beforehand it's this menu:
That's the menu you get by clicking the profile icon in the lower right. I'm talking about the one in the upper right:
Oh man what a UX disaster π thank you so much!
I thought that the two same icons did the same thing, maybe it's I who can't see properly but having two same icons doing different things... I sure missed that!
throw in some "musk" too
Can I use this filter without blocking my valuable musk deer, muskox, and civet content?
