I think the point isn't that he folded on his own show, but that there's a campaign by multiple entities (him, Weiss, etc.) to promote Shapiro's dying brand because that is basically their only "answer" to Fuentes types. idk if it's coordinated or just a bunch of different people seeing a bit of the writing on the wall.
It is so funny that they have misread the moment so badly that they think they'll cow their base with the facts and debate guy, as if facts and argument matter in any way to the people they're trying to corral.
Facts and arguments don't actually matter to Shapiro or most Democrats either, so everyone's on the same page at least.
