Venezuela is a trial balloon to see how the world responds. As expected, the response was timid and weak. This will only embolden this administration. If I had to hazard a guess, Trump's next military adventure will be an attack on "cartels" in Mexico.
I disagree. Even if the leaders condemn the invasion of Venezuela all of them were against Maduro, specially since the 2018 "election", their response is mild because they are kinda happy someone did the dirty work. Also the country is not connected to the global economy. Greenland is part of Denmark (EU), Mexico has a lot of foreign investment and Canada is friends with everyone, the response won't be the same
Which is so frustrating because I think nobody actually wants to start ww3. Who really wants that? Obviously these fuckwits on top that it doesn't affect.
I don't say this to condone US actions in Venezuela in any way, but Maduro was internationally recognized as an illegitimate leader after their last election, with years of public dissent within Venezuela under his rule prior to that. Greenland has none of those things going on right now. So I would expect the international reaction to a similar action in Greenland to much more severe.
Edit: hm .. looks like OP edited their comment to change taking over Greenland with attacking Mexican cartels.
That’s great, but the way it was done was wholly unacceptable in more than a few ways. Doing it this way basically heralds the return of “might makes right” geopolitics and “sphere of influence” doctrine. Regardless of what you think of the now-concluded era of Pax Americana, this new era is absolutely going to be worse.
Fully agree. That's why I started my comment by saying I don't condone it.
this's not about maduro. who do you think will control this oil and how? it will go to israel to start wars all over the globe. Trump is a 80 yr old pos controlled by israel. they told him to do this to enable them to invade many more countries to come
Yes, I know. I know it's about the oil because Trump has been saying so, point blank, out loud, to the media, for weeks. I was just pointing out one key difference between Venezuela and Greenland (ie the legitimacy of their respective heads of state) that could reasonably explain why the international response to both could be different. I don't condone what the US just did in Venezuela.
.. the european zionist leaders and media are all in favor of this because venzuela's resources and new government will now work for israel and allow it to start new wars without fearing iran of closing up global oil trades.
the zionists don't give a damn about humanrights or dictatorships.. they love them and support every dictatorship and government that works for them.
OPs original comment (before the edit changing from Greenland to Mexico) was about the "world" response, not just foreign leaders' responses.
You think the US cares about European feelings? Greenland has the population of a small town and already hosts a US military base. She doesn't need a test case to test the waters.
