I wouldn't let it stop you from trying it out but OP has a point. If you enjoy making candles what are you supposed to do when you have 500 candles in your house? Finding some hobby that has a practical use is ideal because not only do you get enjoyment from crafting the thing but also additional enjoyment from seeing it put to good use.
Do it because it is fun. Sell off stuff to make room or give it away if you want. If you have hundreds of candles you can also recreate your favorite movie set with the ridiculous number of candles!
No real pressure if you are only making money when you need space.
