Agreed, but I'm perfectly fine settling for this in the immediate sense. It might actually hasten the better option as they will not be alpha enough for their fanatics.

But so many people... oh my god so many, many people!... seem to be addicted to that poison spear with the honey tip.
That constant soundbite constant outrage is effective to keep the large herd of humanity in check, this and selective targeted misinformation is the recipe to keep so many people from actually doing something, anything meaningful to keep the nazis from the levers of power, so many people are laughably easy to manipulate and keep them from voting.
Many of the very same people who allowed the nazis into power are also whooping with delight at some random insignificant schadenfreude bullshit theater, as Rome burns around them.
