R.I.P.

I thought he was amazing in Generation Kill and in The Wire , no matter how much people like to hate on that season. Very brave, very real, very troubled characters. Highly underutilized actor.

Absolutely. Incredible acting in both. What a shame. Generation Kill is such a superb bit of TV that very few people I know have seen as well.

I think people are put off at first with the change of scenery but once you realize that's the format of the show there shouldn't be any issues.

It has parallels with The Pacific, in that they do away with origin stories and exposition you're already up to speed on from season one and dump you in another unfamiliar setting and that was just too jarring for a lot of people. But, yeah, season 2 is pure tragedy and as packed with details and connections as the other seasons. They write it so well, they make mundane work situations compelling.
