Here are two ones that are worth watching as movies.
"From Russia, With Love." I like this one because Bond is a cog in a larger machine. We have different agencies with different agendas playing off each other. Also, an incredible fight between actual boxers Connery and Robert Shaw.
"Thunderball" Good old fashioned live action underwater with no CGI. A company of US Navy SEALs parachute into the middle of the ocean and have a speargun battle with SPECTRE agents with sea sleds. 1960s Playboy fantasy disguised as Cold War drama.
I will also give a shout out to the Dalton films. He got the unenviable job of playing Bond without excess drinking, smoking or sex, because it was the 1980s and Nancy Reagan was telling us to 'just say no.'
Love me some Timothy Dalton. I would also include Goldeneye.
Ahhh...Famke Jansen. One of the most under rated Bond girls.
