I thought we hated "toxic masculinity." So, why are we giving the most toxically masculine Disney character EVER a full movie?

My question is more why can't a piece of shit stay that way. Everybody is asking for a redemption arc. I would rather have a movie of a new character or one that doesn't need a 180 to lead a movie.

Yeah this is one of the reasons I stopped watching The House of the dragon show, one reason. Not everybody needs a tragic misunderstood reason for being bad guys. Sometimes people are allowed to be the villain. Let villains exist. They certainly exist in the real world don't know why they're trying to hide it in fantasy.

We aren't too keen on puppy murderers either, but Cruella got her moment.

if they can pull of a fun redemption arc, why not

How? He died at the end of the movie. So, it's a prequel, in which he still ends up a douche, or, it's a retcon.

Either way, miss me.

Because he's hilarious, and there's always room for a redemption arc.
