Gommunism is originally just how Communism is pronounced in the Saxon dialect of German. During the late 2010s, people started using it in a derogatory way to refer to how Already Existing Socialism had been applied in the DDR after a historic interview with Erich Honecker went viral.

The interesting thing is that Honecker originally came from the Saarland and only adopted East Middle German due to cultural osmosis from living in the area for a while.

East Germany and being governed by a guy from West Germany, name a more iconic duo

The explanation I heard is that the G came from "government" but I wasn't really satisfied with that answer.
