Anyone else love this fucking take?

It seems to assume the US has a national oil company, which it doesn't, it's run by a bunch of private firms with foreign interests, so even if the US exports more oil those companies still want to secure their foreign interest. ExxonMobil has offshore wells in Guyana which is right next to Venezuela, why would they do they if the USA has such much good crude?!?!?!

Shut the fuck up debate pervert!

Also, America is a net exporter of low grade crude oil, and its Gulf Coast refineries are geared towards refining the exact type of crude oil Venezuela exports

I've tried explaining this exact fact to people on reddit and it breaks their brains.

I think you jave it backwards. The US committed all refineries to heavy crude oil shortly before it discovered how to frack for the high grade stuff. But because it would have cost oil companies hundreds of billions to convert all the refineries they just got done making, we import shitty tar sand oil from Canada and export all the high grade stuff we drill for.

But yeah, Venezuela's heavy crude is what ExxonMobile wants to bring into Houston so that my boss's new truck can continue to get 16 MPG on the highway.
