The crucial time for the dems to cave was the first three weeks of the shutdown, but now they can rely on the looming threat of Thanksgiving and the pain of more missed paychecks to discipline Trump

It really seems like they were completely unprepared for the usual line of "It's the evil commie Democrats who are hurting you!" to fail. Like they don't realize they're no longer the opposition and everything bad that happens is their fault in the eyes of normal people.
