After Nevada it really looked like Bernie had the primary win completely locked in for a couple weeks. It was a primary, but it was the presidential primary. Mamdani is just filling in what's essentially a figurehead position in one city

My faith in electoralism went from an all time high to an all time low in just that one month after the Nevada caucus

It was the one time I've ever seen the mainstream media outlets in this country express genuine fear, like they were actually visibly depressed and dooming for a little while before South Carolina calmed them down
