"Oh look at this guy reading a BOOK at the cafe, he must think he's sooooo cool! I get he thinks a woman will sleep with him cuz he's so smart and cultured."

Or maybe my roommate is having their partner over and they kicked me out and I'd rather do this than just be on my fucking phone for two hours?

OS for the Surface and Surface 2 which used ARM processors

What if they're rooted and running some ARM-friendly flavor of tux-shining

This is a thing and running Linux only gets more based the more cursed your setup is

I love people running Linux on absolutely bizarre hardware. "It's not stupid if it works, and it isn't e-waste if you can still put it to good use."

I hate seeing grannies getting bamboozled by sales people at Best Buy into buying $2000 machines when all they're doing is checking email and playing video poker. We should be repurposing perfectly fine hardware into cheap servers or email-and-office machines. Not everyone needs to be able to play Cyberpunk on the highest graphics settings...

Yeah, this, for sure. If I had time and energy for it, I'd kinda like to do what some people have posted stories of doing entirely by accident when going into an electronics store to buy a replacement part for something or a pack of batteries, and just hang around and disrupt said slick salesmen and try to help those types of folks realise they don't need a top of the line machine for email and office programs and very basic games, but that was... eh, a neat story 10 years ago, a good way to get thrown out of said shop nowadays.

Yeah but they don't like messing with people in their stores who look like this pete
