If you see a lawyer who works for the county, you've got roughly 50/50 chances they're a public defender (based and cool) or a lieutenant for the prison industrial complex. This dumbass tried to argue that they were a leftist actually, and yes of course they voted for Biden and then Harris. Good news is I'm doing my part. I let them know the only difference between them and a cop is that they can read, but that's the only nice thing that can be said about them. Didn't even have to insult them personally, got to spit venom entirely by insulting their profession, and assuring them that they can make the world a better place any day they like by simply getting another fucking job. I hope I ruined their night. It's the least they deserve as they go on to their career ruining people's lives. My favorite part was the end. I waited until I saw that they were typing a message before unmatching. I could tell they were addicted to having the last word, only reason they took such abuse for so long to begin with lmao. Absolutely confirmed that she saw what I had written last and must have been FURIOUS, only for the message to fail to send as soon as she finishes typing lmao. What a dope. 25 year old K-JD ass thinking she's doing "public interest" law helping lock people up as modern slaves and compelled to make prison contractors obscenely rich.

Only redeeming quality she had was that she was young enough to recognize her mistakes before doing too much harm with the rest of her career. Will she? Who knows, but I hope so. Maybe if she keeps matching with leftists who bully the fuck out of her she'll figure it out sooner rather than later.

the whole penitentiary system is fucked, we often have no choice but to depend on it and hope that things work out. For that reason I will never think "we need prosecutors," I would rather imagine a future where justice is actually carried out that doesnt involve a slavery prison solution.

That imagined future system will still need people whose job it is to prosecute people who are accused of crime unless you just wanna let ChatGPT do it i guess

Nah it would probably look more like a victim-led process where they get to be the "prosecutor," but that would not have the same name (or function as a designated person to decide the punishment of crimes in a community or if they should be punished in general)

That's not what a prosecutor does, that's the judge and the jury, the prosecutor is just there to argue "they're guilty." I would not ever have victims lead anything in court because that would be an unimaginable burden for the vast majority and they probably wouldn't do a very good job compared to someone whose job it is to argue legal shit all day (you know how it's widely seen as an incredibly stupid move to represent yourself in court even if you're a lawyer)

The problem with prosecutors isn't their role in the judicial system, it's that the judicial system they operate in savagely oppresses the working class and prosecutors are direct beneficiaries of the prison industrial complex
