I came across a post requesting to remove Nutomic from the Lemmy devs due to a comment he made here. In it, he suggests that the ruling class promotes both LGBTQ+ rights and transphobia as a means to create division among the working class. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this perspective. Do you agree or disagree with his viewpoint? What other topics do you believe are used to divide the working class? Let's discuss!

I agree with the foundational claim that the ruling class sows division to distract from the fact that they are the common enemy. I strongly disagree with the idea that advocating for love and acceptance of others is divisive.

However, it cannot be denied that the ruling class will rainbow glaze our community when they think they can make a buck off us, and then throw us under the bus the moment it looks to be more beneficial to themselves. That is not to say they haven’t twisted the message of love and acceptance into a weaponized wedge. By controlling the media they can easily leverage their own rainbow-glazing to spread paranoia that love and acceptance will turn everyone’s kids gay and autistic, and as we all know not being a straight white cis male christofascist means you are living in sin. They heard it from God’s own mouth, you know.
