This is a cowards response to genocide. Israel should be economically sanctioned and embargoed. All Israeli visas should be cancelled. Every Israeli government or military member should be charged and imprisoned if they leave Israels jurisdiction.

They should be ostracised from the international community. Only Israeli's who publicly oppose Israel should be allowed asylum.

Isn't that what the UN is trying to do, but Israels best buddy uses its veto to make it not happen?

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 13 points 4 weeks ago

No country requires UN approval to do anything I suggested

No the UN put Hamas on a sexual violence blacklist because Israel said so without evidence and then blocked the UN investigation.

And then they went "Maybe we will put Israel who is gang raping Palestinians on video on the list next year".

This is not made up.

And then Daddy Security council vetoed the investigations. Wait no, just the 2nd one.

I remember when the US let one Security Council resolution pass and everyone thought it would do something but it turned out the UN is utterly worthless and refuses to implement any actual mechanisms.

Now that all subsequent resolutions are getting blocked, I wonder why anyone even cares about it.

The correct response would be for one of the other nuclear-armed powers to come in with the Navy in land and amphibious invasion into Gaza and start shooting down any Israelis in the territory attacking it and reconstructing it.

France or the uk or the us could end this.

i think you are underestimating the difficulty of an amphibious assault. i think it's the right answer, but it's net a simple action, and any and all amphibious assaults have the US Navy to contend with, a military power that is horrifically overscaled. the US Navy has approximately 10x the deck space of any other country

because finally the things going on (Gazan genocide), the perpetrator (satan bibi) and the #1 supporter (the US administration) has all become intolerable all at once.
