I really doubt Americans will meaningfully boycott Disney, Hulu, ESPN, and Paramount (separate company, but another that's kowtowed to Trump). Paramount is also trying to buy Warner Brothers Discovery which owns CNN. Tiktok will also obviously be sold to a Trump ally.
Honestly it’s insanely hard when they own fucking everything. You can’t trip over something that’s not owned by these ghouls.
Hard, but not impossible. And a lot easier than other methods of resistance, let's be honest. If not watching Disney or sports is a firm barrier to people's willingness to resist tyranny, we're pretty fucking screwed.
We're pretty fucking screwed.
It's the American way. Keep them fed and entertained and they'll go along with anything. Although fed is up in the air with grocery prices...
Bread and circus (Panem et circenses) has been a thing since Roman times.
Right. I say it less as a “people are lazy” and more “it’s really hard for the layman to see what is and isn’t owned by who” when everything is so intertwined. You could leave one company for another and ultimately funnel to the same parent company. Or even separate parent companies that funnel to the same investment firms.
If there’s a handy resource on it I’ll be happy to take it. Otherwise I might compile my own in my spare time.
It becomes easier when you decide to just not give them any money to watch the things they produce.
But do you wanna watch it after they cram it full of their propaganda?
Presumably I wouldn't like it enough to want to watch it even for for free at that point.
disneys bigger threat is the loss of tourism to the parks and cruises.
Trump's immigration policy is taking care of that
