Was talking to one of the admins of Hexbear yesterday and found out there is a whole lot of history to Hexbear and I would love to know more and I was told to say and I quote "Hey I'm mainly new to hexbear, please dump site lore on me like you're dumping slop in a pig trough"

So please, dump your lore on me, like I'm a piggy rolling waiting to role around in the mud

Edit:

Wait wait wait the infrahaz tried to make an account here? That could not have gone well.

Someone spent a very long time spamming the site with John Kerry's face as an attempt at wrecking the site. Honestly they were good at it, frequently dodging attempts to stop them.

Eventually either we successfully got rid of them or they realized it was not having the site destroying impact they hoped for so they stopped. But Kerryposting still lives on in our memories as one of the weirdest attempts to shut down a site anyone has ever seen

That's certainly one of the most interesting ways I've heard that someone tried use and commit a denial of service attack on a website.

It wasn't even a dos attack it was just to be as annoying as possible in the most maximal way a poster can.

The proper way to DOS Hexbear is dprk-soldier

At least that picture is possibly relevant, unlike intentionally annoying spam.

I vaguely remember some non-trolls getting banned for Kerryposting because it was almost impossible to distinguish the troll kerryposting from the "lmao there's a weirdo posting john kerry to troll us" kerryposting. So kerryposting was just verboten for a good while.

imagine a site where you get permabanned for saying "John Kerry"

The Kerries unironically followed a high school schedule. They died off a lot when school started back up and had several resurgences during breaks.

I'm now remembering the silver legion or whatever silver-legion
