Yeah when I heard 30-06 rifle I instantly thought "Oh, that's a right winger all right."
It's Utah, that rifle, and the target wasn't really someone the left gives a shit about. That does leave open the chance that it was a liberal of some flavor. Where I grew up it was fairly mixed as far as how they identified between lib and conservative. They all hunted deer though. And they all owned similar rifles except of course those who got weird with it and took up bow hunting. Pretty sure most of them still owned rifles.
I got my first shooting lessons from such redneck types. The type of family to pay for a huge mountain of sand to be dumped on a portion of their property so they can have a shooting range at home. (No, that's not a joke for non-Americans. People love their fucking guns.)
Mormon nationalist killing a baptist heretic
I'd have one hell of a laugh if this turns out to be religious sectarianism, not political fighting.
Ya ive got family in the southwest USA. In the same town one uncles family are libs out protesting trump daily. Other uncle thinks Trump is God's gift.
They go deer hunting together all the time. Houses full of trophies and guns exactly like this.
outside of subsistence situations, in which case go nuts with whatever you can afford, i have more respect for a bow hunter. it's more honest and you have to be better at the skill.
