Much like how cells deprived of oxygen or nutrients will find alternate pathways to accomplish their functions, a mind deprived of a materialist heuristic will resort to this baby brained good-guy-bad-guy shit to fufill the function of creating a mental model of the world.
It did not take much thinking on his part, they have been making this argument my entire life. Anytime you are trying to improve something in this country they will angrily tell you how much worse people have it in other countries and how lucky you are to live here.
Until they get their way that is and make here like there.
