We need to get out of the TOS era 😭

I was so excited in the late 90s as we came to the end of Voyager.

TNG has done such an excellent job building out the era. Then DS9 with the Dominion War really made me appreciate the political tension. As Voyager got close to home we got little bits of information. The Borg were largely defeated, we were home.

Time to explore the post-Voyager era!!!

Then we went back to the beginning... Ok...

Then Trek died... Hmmm...

But it came back! Just before TOS... Huh...

Picard! No... Season 2 Picard? Interesting but also not what I wanted...

Lower Decks! Finally!

(Also I like Strange New World, but explore them in post 90s Trek, post Voyager.)

Discovery did give us a glimpse of the future but then handicapped it with a lack of dilithium. I imagine it has to be tough to make interesting stories showing believable advancements of a completely imaginary and already well advanced society compared to our own. I do wish we could depart from Kirk/Spock like TNG, DS9, and VOY, whether they make it more advanced or not. It all feels too familiar to the neverending Skywalker nonsense that was played out after the first three films.

As wild as the time jump was to The Burn era, it allowed for much more creative and interesting stories. It's my hope that the upcoming Starfleet Academy, in addition to having my favorite doctor, The Doctor, returning will give them some freedom to explore.

I’d like to see a maroon uniform era Star Trek show. The times they revisited it on TNG was great.

I legit think they refuse to do that is because they think the audience wouldn't be able to tell the cast apart
