I'm assuming Musk did this after he removed his own name from them.

He's the richest man in the world, he doesn't need to be involved with Epstein at all, he's rich enough to fund his own pedo ring

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 19 points 8 months ago (4 children)

I am a little dismayed that the world's awareness of sex-trafficking and systemic child abuse seem to begin and end with Epstein.

Does everyone think that this kind of vile luxury for the wealthy was centered around ONE person? There are billions of people on Earth, it's not only still going on, but the ringleaders are celebrating that the world's attention is on just one dude who was caught and killed for it.

I think people are obsessing over this case because a bunch of rich and powerful people got publicly exposed as a part of the same ring, but there's certainly way more out there. I'm sure a bunch other politicians, billionaires, clergymen, celebrities, and a whole host of other people with influence has their own rings all over the world.

Also it's not just a rich and powerful thing, there are unfortunately also middle class and poor people that abuse children. The thing about Epstein is that it's mostly rich and powerful people that should be exposed and prosecuted. It sends a good message, even the richest and most powerful people can't get away with it.

YEP. Epstein going didn't end it, it just ended one branch of it. And created a job vacancy...

Absolutely, something nobody talks about, is the sad reality that there are a lot of people out there with money and power who still seek such "services" and are willing to make men rich to get it. Of course someone moved into that role and took over operations.

And as much as I would like to see these people hunted down and lowered slowly into an active volcano, I much rather see countries start going after their wealthy monsters who make these industries possible.

Allowing a select few members of society to become unfathomably wealthy is one of those things we'll look back at one day like we look back at bloodletting and burning witches.

Well it's sort of hard to obsess over cases we don't know about. What do you want from people, self-funded investigations?

If you have evidence then obviously you know what to do with it. When it comes out people can talk about that case too otherwise I don't really know what you want.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 0 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

I don't know, maybe in my country some national attention on the fact that these rings exist instead of bills to check the genitals of children using the bathroom.

I don’t really know what you want.

Actual effort instead of the typical, nihilistic apathy displayed in your reply.

My assumption is that he was the Tiger Woods of pedophilic sex trafficking. He was the best, most well connected, and most "secret".

Ofc there are others, but they probably don't have the traffic and volume that Epstein did.

That is just optimistic thinking of course. There is the possibility that he was the least known, and there's bigger badder traffickers still hiding in the dark.

[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Blackjack and hookers will be among the most morally acceptable things in that ring.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 1 points 8 months ago

Well not hookers. Doesn't really align with the theme

Or was he a relevant name too late to be invited? In his early big boy years he was very busy seeming like humanity's hope to live past the suns expansion.
