It's crazy to me how many Americans think that political differences are like having a preference for pizza over hamburgers.
Politics exists as some kind of ideological exercise that floats around in the ether as opposed to a way to exert power over people.
Surely, they can recognize that if they got everything they wanted politically, some people would be unhappy.
Like, if I got everything I wanted politically, chuds would be fucking pissed. I would understand why they hate me. I wouldn't sit there like a deer in the headlights wondering, "hmm, why are they so worked up about my political beliefs? ๐ค"
they assume that everyone is out to hurt as many people as possible like they are
They are unable to conceive of the fact that their opponents are not as vindictive and cynical as them
