conservative
A community to satirize conservtive and right-wing "ideals".
This community (now) exists as a pressure valve, a place to process through humor the often frustrating world of conservative politics. Above all, this is NOT the place for serious conservative support/viewpoints/arguments. There are other places on Lemmy for that if you desire it.
Rules:
-
Always follow .world instance rules
-
Parody With Purpose: This is a space for humorous takes on conservative politics. We welcome satire, but draw the line at content that promotes racism, sexism, homophobia, or other forms of bigotry.
-
Memes Over Manifestos: This community focuses on humor and parody, not serious political debate. There are plenty of spaces for earnest conservative discussion, this isn’t one of them.
-
Highlight Contradictions: Sometimes the best content points out inconsistencies and hypocrisies in conservative talking points. Creative commentary is encouraged.
-
Public Figures Fair Game: Politicians and pundits can be satirized, but no targeting of private individuals, doxxing, or harassment.
Children of public figures under the age of 14 are also off-limits, a 16 year old has enough free agency to break with or adopt their parents views. An 8 year old kid doesn't.
-
No News Zone: Memes only, news or other serious content should be sent to the nearest relevant comm. Meme's of current events, however, are encouraged.
-
Clear Satire: Make your satirical intent reasonably clear. We’re here to mock bad ideas, not accidentally spread them. If you're unsure how it will be taken, feel free to DM the mod team ahead of time or explicitly tag it as satire in the body.
A note on ChadMcTruth: Chad's content is 100% satire, but his work can sometimes be hard to tell, but if he posted it be assured, its satire.
- Relevant Content: All posts should relate to conservative politics or ideologies in some way somewhere in your post. Either in the title or the meme itself.
For more general political memes please see !politicalmemes@lemmy.world
-
Community Respect: Disagree with fellow members all you want, but personal attacks aren’t welcome. Save the criticism for the ideas, not each other.
-
Moderation Discretion: Mods will use reasonable judgment in applying these rules. We’ll be fair, but firm. These kinds of comms have a tendency to get off the rails, so we might seem overzealous in moderation sometimes.

For the moment, i'm allowing properly tagged NSFW content as long as its funny and relevant. Don't make me regret it.
And above all, HAVE FUN!

You sure? Because your entire comment history is about going against the grain and endlessly complaining about "you people". Tbh, you don't sound exactly friendly.
Clearly not with the endless quarreling lol Could it be a personality disorder? Not being mean, it's a genuine question, having been diagnosed myself and having had worked through things
The absence of a large conservative user base does not necessarily make it an echo chamber. If anything, the conservatives around here act just like you picking fights with everyone, but also post tons of misinformation in typical conservative fashion. Literally the only ones. You're essentially asking us diners why they're such cucks for not taking a plop of shit to our dinner plate and blaming us for poor diets. Like, c'mon, dude. Do you understand what you're asking for? How can you be so apologetic to venomous conservative antics?
And before you accuse me of being another monkey in a chamber, consider that I spent 15+ years arguing with dissenting, hard-headed voices online in all types of diverse forums, including conservative and conspiracy groups. And after all that, I'm done with that mind-numbing shit having to explain basic aspects of life to people who flunked out of school. If Lemmy is an occasional echo chamber but at least rubs their braincells together and still believes in integrity, then so be it. I'm happy I don't need to interact with stupid often. Lemmy is sophisticated and self-aware enough of its own perils for the simple fact that it's largely educated. You're not the first to notice or raise your points, nor will you be the last. But at least walk two moons in our shoes before you descend with derision and judgement as to why we're here in the first place. We've been there, we've done it, and nothing good came out of it. Stop pretending you know the answers to problems we don't have.
I wouldn't be so sure of this, at least not with the current user base. Most Lemmings are painfully aware, just like they're painfully aware of propaganda, bias, misinformation and all that matters. Those are all actively discussed all the time in many forms. For example, were you here for the Media Bias Fact Check bot debacle? It was centered around the role of fact checking unintentionally perpetuating biases. You can't ask for a better hallmark of a considerate, educated and actively concerned user base.
Like I said before, there have been many other commenters before pointing out how Lemmy sometimes feels like an echo chamber because it can be if your only concern is excluding the right. But is it really an echo chamber if you look at the other side of the political isle? We have anywhere from moderates to anarchists to goddamn tankies here, and part of that came about because the right hasn't had the chance to dominate and polarize this site into only two bands. Isn't that a win on its own?
