Supposedly there's some controversy surrounding this guy but I haven't figured out what yet cos no one will say. Anyone know? His points seem salient enough are there really such avid defenders of unreal engine?
I'm an avid hater of ue3 and 4 but 5 really just takes it to a new level I think lumen looks legitimately worse than any baked lightmap. Its so noisy and inaccurate causing such odd artifacts all the time. Oh and all the games perform like shit and look weird. Oversharpened blurry strange visuals where i can't actually tell if there's any better graphical effects because i can't see shit. Feels like 4k + dlss performance + framegen is mandatory for all games which you can only get with the latest flagship card and everyone else gets shit i guess. More ewaste for the ewaste gods!
Also cryengines implementation of lumen called svogi is significantly better and crytek almost died entirely
Like a year ago he did a small niche PC part manufacturer dirty by royally screwing up the review of their product, which sparked a big controversy because the people who like LTT are also the people who like small niche PC part manufacturers. This opened the floodgates for further criticism - apparently everyone at LTT was being worked to the bone, every video was being rushed out the door to the point that there was no more time for fact checking or verification, female staffers were being mistreated, Linus was misusing company funds and going on his podcast to lie about what was happening, and probably some more stuff that I don't remember.
But then it kinda... fizzled out. My hypothesis is that LTT has reached the point where they are "too big to fail", and by that I mean that they have a large enough audience of people who don't read Reddit threads to just ride out the wave until the people who were angry lost interest.
Oh i know about LTT's shit if i ever saw Linus I'd rip off his ballsack little petite bourgeois scumbag he's the archetype of all small family business owners who i hate with a divine passion. Also the fans of the channel are fanatics at this point and I'm pretty sure harrassed the vicitims of his companies abuse
Its threat interactive seemingly getting banned from being mentioned everywhere that I was curious about.
