I feel like we need to explain dprk-soldier again, amongst other things

No one really even listened to it but for some reason posted on its subreddit.. In the dark times.

While the hosts balked at their own subreddit, it grew in size and power, becoming one only spoken of in hushed tones by others who feared the wrath of the dreaded tankie/berniebro.

Haha. I remember digging up the last post will made on /CTH and it was some fucking dire stuff. Someone commented something pretty milquetoast about not liking to pay money for a left wing podcast only for the hosts to have a guy on talking about his reviews of fast food restaurants and will lost his fucking shit. It wasn't like it was a bunch of people dunking on him, or even that the one commenter was being particularly harsh. He was just for whatever reason feeling especially thin-skinned that day.

It honestly cracks me up how they still bring up the subreddit, they dread it to this day

What was their problem with it?

That we dared to listen to the podcast and critique it's contents, and not just lavish praise on every episode Will decides they're going to just be lazy and read their twitter mutuals bullshit tweets for an hour lol. I still remember that post OP references, with Will personally logging on to tell people to "just don't listen, then" in a huff.

They really didn't like redditors, with generally good reason. That they had a section of the fandom they didn't have much influence over, like on twitter, seemed to get under their skin especially.

They are absolutely right to hate the subreddit, it's just that the reasons they hated it were pathetic. The weird shit Nick Mullen said guesting on Chapo after the sub was banned was a bit of a final straw for me. Just incredibly clear that Will, at least, had completely lost touch with what the project had been at that point.

I found the subreddit first, didn't listen to the podcast for like a month because I assumed it would suck, then discovered that it was considerably funnier and less lib than most of the sub.

I found the subreddit first, tried to listen to the podcast because I had friends who were fans, but didn't like it.

It is funny that cth was known as the radical left subreddit despite the fact that early on it.. really wasn't
