It’s been a few years since I last shaved my beard. If I don’t get irritated skin after shaving should I still use an aftershave? If so, what do you recommend?

Personally I don't recommend after shave even if you get razer burn. I use shave balm, which helps heal the skin and protect against ingrown hairs after shaving, and rehydrates it. Nivea makes a good one

Looks a bit different on my side of the pond but I believe that's the same thing, yes

I use a Nivea version of this. I've been very happy. Really you just want an antiseptic and lotion.

That’s actually the one I use as well!

So I’m not some expert but I would say it’s essential and I’ve been using that very one since I started shaving 20 years ago. I like to keep clean shaven so I shave every/every other day and I apply that after every shave.

It’s a good one because it’s relatively cheap and it contains no alcohol. Truly helps with irritation and any cuts or burns.

Can confirm. Been using them for a few years and I have no complaints, only praise for it. I've specifically used the Nivea ones.
